Art and Literature in Education in the Digital Era

Author:Patricia Forde, Tuutikki Tolonen, Yang Qingxiang

Description:
In today’s digital era it can be a battle to get children, and indeed adults, to read physical books and drop their devices. In the face of the perceived overuse of technology many parents and teachers have concerns about critical reasoning, attention span, empathy, reflection and intellectual development. In this session three best-selling children’s authors will discuss this phenomenon and ways that can engender a lifelong love of reading. They will also look at how literature and art can be woven into a child’s school and home life to a very positive effect. To discuss these issues, we will be joined by three very talented writers: Patricia Forde from Ireland, Tuutikki Tolonen from Finland and Yang Qingxiang from China.
