Huang Canran
Huang Canran is a poet, translator and critic who was born in 1963 in Quanzhou, Fujian, and now lives in Shenzhen in Dongbei Village. From 1990 to 2014 he was the international news translator for Hong Kong’s Ta Kung Pao newspaper. In 2011, he won the Chinese Poetry Media Awards Annual Poet Award, and this year he won the One Year’s Gratitude Award as part of the One-Way Street Literature Award. His recent translations have included works by Joseph Brodsky, Seamus Heaney, Abbas Kiarostami and Bertolt Brecht.
