Jussi Valtonen’s latest novel was a bestseller in his native Finland and has been sold into 10 markets around the world, including China, where it will be soon be published by China International Radio Press (<他们不知道自己在做什么>/中国国际广播出版社). In the novel, the key protagonist Joe Chayefski has got what he always wanted: a reputation as one of America’s top neuroscientists, a beautiful wife and two perfect daughters. But his carefully created ideal is threatened when his lab is targeted by animal rights activists. The attack is followed by a phone call from Joe’s ex-wife in Finland. Two decades have passed since he abandoned Alina and their young son, Samuel, returning to America to advance his career. Now Samuel is somewhere in the States, and Alina fears he is looking for revenge.

Jussi Valtonen is a Finnish author and psychologist. He studied neuropsychology in the United States and film screenwriting in the UK. Come and join Jussi as he discusses his book and some of the key themes in it such as family relationships, commercialisation of everyday life, technology, and beliefs and hype about the brain.
